But that is a lot of money to spend and a lot of families to evict just to have a psychological connection for small business owners that will, for all practical purposes, encourage people in Valparaiso to spend their weekend entertainment money in Chicago.  Besides that, as someone who uses the northern line, a Valpo expansion would force trains to be taken off the old line, which will make the public transportation inconvenient for everybody who has access to it.

I&#039;m not opposed to the idea of cooperating with the surrounding counties or even having a regional body to help us develop our infrastructure in concert with one another.  It&#039;s just that I see this body, if approved, making really poor decisions and a lack of accountability that would let them get away with it.

There&#039;s a right and wrong way to go forward with this, and I personally believe this is the wrong way.

Thankfully, it looks like the measure is going to fail, the only question is, &quot;how miserably?&quot;</description>
